Scientists show that the yield of cabbages grown on soils supplied with two modern nitrified urine fertilizers recycled from human urine is approximately equal to the yield when soils are fertilized with commercial vinasse. The exclusive use of compost recycled from human feces gave a slightly lower yield, but such compost is expected to give extra carbon to soils when combined with nitrified urine fertilizers.

From January 14 to 20, DEP’s Compliance Reporting Database shows oil and gas inspectors filed 333 inspections reports that resulted in reporting 26 violations of environmental regulations-- 4 violations by the conventional oil and gas industry and 12 violations by the unconventional shale natural gas industry. So far this year-- as of January 13 -- DEP issued 130 formal notices of violation to conventional operators and 39 to unconventional shale gas operators.
