The Penn State PA Technical Assistance Program will hold an in-person training day and tour July 16 on Food Waste Reduction and Upcycling at the Penn State Berks Janssen Conference Center, 4150 Janssen Drive in Wyomissing, Berks County from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The morning training session will be followed by an in-person tour of Unique Snacks, one of Reading’s oldest pretzel bakeries 215 E Bellevue Avenue in Reading.

Aricell Lithium Battery Factory Fire in South Korea Kills 23 Workers

An explosion at Aricell’s lithium metal battery factory in Hwaseong city in South Korea killed 23 workers in late June 2024. Most of the dead were low paid and undocumented female migrant workers from China who had not received properly training in industrial safety, according to their family members.
