Sea level in the IPCC 6th assessment report (AR6)

Real Climate

My top 3 impressions up-front: The sea level projections for the year 2100 have been adjusted upwards again. The IPCC gives more consideration to the large long-term sea-level rise beyond the year 2100. IPCC: The planet is on red alert

A Greener Life

Some of those predicted changes are already happening such as continued sea level rise which is now irreversible over a time span of hundreds to thousands of years. And by the end of this century, extreme sea-level events which previously occurred every 100 years could happen every year.

IPCC report urges for action to limit global warming to 1.5C

It would halve the number of humans that will be exposed to water scarcity; prevent runaway sea level rise that could put many of the world’s islands under water and render uninhabitable the large delta and low-coastal regions that are home to two-thirds of the world’s population.

Climatology: The Science of Global Weather Systems over the Long Term

Environmental Science

Much of the discussion of climatology in public discourse concerns anthropogenic climate change - the contribution of human activity to such events as carbon particles, greenhouse gases, and their effects such as the Greenhouse Effect and coral bleaching. This leads to the greenhouse effect. Greenhouse Gases.
