On August 14, CNX Resources issued a press release announcing the preliminary results of air emissions monitoring at 14 sites it said "indicate that CNX naturalgas development poses no public health risk." Eleven of the sites were monitored for as little as just four weeks up to 24 weeks or less.

Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit issued a decision affirming that Pennsylvania state legislators and municipalities lacked standing to challenge the Delaware River Basin Commission’s regulation banning fracking within the Basin. In February 2021, the DRBC banned high-volume hydraulic fracking within the Delaware River Basin.
