Happy EarthDay! I was only four years old when the first EarthDay took place. Some companies have co-opted the day to sell more “environmentally friendly” products , or worse, to provide polluters with an opportunity to greenwash their miserable track records. EarthDay didn’t come out of nowhere.

They’re pretending that collecting litter from public spaces in your neighbourhood is the solution to plastic pollution, once again reminding us that they’ve completely lost the plot on waste and the environment. . There is no doubt that deposit-return programs prevent plastic waste.
So, we worked with experts to develop a plan to fix the plastic waste problem. We did this because bans were easier for people to understand and made it clearer to the plastics industry the consequences of their continued efforts to block progress to fix the entire waste system.
