ClimateChange Grips Trout Streams Across the Nation: How Anglers Are Responding Across the country, anglers have watched as droughts, floods, and high temperatures batter the rivers they depend on. The issue has begun changing minds about climatechange among recreational fishermen, a demographic that leans politically conservative.
In early 2023, I had the opportunity to serve as the reviewer of Chapter 11 (Agriculture, Food Systems, and Rural Communities) of the Fifth National Climate Assessment (NCA 5 ). The NCA is a quadrennial report, mandated by Congress, that details the present and future impacts of climatechange in the United States.
On November 25, Natural Lands and ClearWater Conservancy announced the preservation of the 667-acre Ridge Farm in Jackson and Miller Townships, Huntingdon County. On April 3, The NatureConservation PA-DE announced it has closed on the purchase of 509 acres in Dauphin County and transferred the parcel to the Game Commission for addition to State Game Lands 211.
