If Germany didn’t count emissions-producing and land-intensive fuels like biomass and biofuels as renewable, which most environmental groups, even Greenpeace, believe it shouldn’t, the share of its electricity from non-emitting, non-hydro renewables is just 34 percent. We should not want them to either rise or decline.
