We know that the plant emits nitrogen oxides (NOx) which are known to cause asthma in young children and cause difficulty breathing for people with respiratory illnesses. Gas plants also emit greenhouse gases that contribute to global warming, which we know have been linked to wildfires.

I got involved after the city filed reports and maps to support its claim that it was fulfilling the requirements of a historic 2017 settlement to find and replace Flint’s lead pipes. But nitrous oxide is even more insidiously efficient at disrupting the climate.
