A Nobel pursuit

Real Climate

The key aspects were the inclusion of water vapour feedback as temperatures increased, and the use of ‘convective adjustment’ to maintain stability of the lower atmospheric column. The basic issue stems from the different timescales of the ocean and atmosphere. Fred Singer, before his turn to the dark side).

Sprinkling basalt over soil could remove huge amounts of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere

Physics World

Sprinkling powered basalt over natural ecosystems would remove vast amounts of carbon dioxide from the Earth’s atmosphere while also improving soils. Therefore, most proposed routes to net zero also bank on our ability to capture carbon – at source or directly from the atmosphere – and store it securely over the long term.

A CERES of fortunate events…

Real Climate

The CERES estimates of the top-of-atmosphere radiative fluxes are available from 2001 to the present. that you remember that post, but the simple model has an albedo and an atmospheric absorption that together control the surface temperature. The simplest model for the greenhouse effect. Two layers, albedo, and one LW absorber.

The Ontario government’s attack on the federal Clean Electricity Regulations is hurting Ontarians while slowing down Canada’s climate efforts

Enviromental Defense

In 2017, our grid was 96 percent non-emitting. The Atmospheric Fund has released analysis which indicates that Ontario is capable of ramping up renewable energy sources fast enough to meet its rising electricity demand and phase out gas-powered electricity by 2035.
