The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has known for years that emissions of ethylene oxide —a colorless, odorless gas used to sterilize medical equipment and some food products—pose a long-term cancer risk to communities near commercial sterilizing facilities. This is a blatant example of environmental injustice.
