Despite adding six million more passenger cars, trucks, and SUVs to the roads over the last 10 years, California’s gasoline consumption has dropped over two billion gallons from its peak in 2005. Switching from fossil fuels like gasoline to increasingly clean electricity sources is vital for hitting climate and air pollution goals.

Despite past investments, thousands of older polluting school buses remain on the road. Why not 100 percent?

DTE’s goal is to reach “net-zero” emissions by 2050 while reducing its carbon emissions from 2005 levels 65 percent by 2028, 85 percent by 2035, and 90 percent by 2040. DTE was already far along in preparing its long-term energy plan when the law passed. What’s in DTE’s proposed plan?
