Last week, the California Supreme Court unanimously ruled that an initiative measure that would have imposed severe restrictions on oil and gas development in Monterey County is preempted by state law and therefore invalid. But the good news is that this goal can still be achieved through other legal and political strategies.

Presumably Dagsvik and Moen are used to this kind of model, but they seem to be inexperienced with the models used for weather and climate, which on the other hand are based on the laws of physics. We know from previous experience that it is likely that such cases will be used uncritically and selectively for political and economic goals.

And the company maintains positions on just about every ag and water related board and commission in Kings, giving it considerable political heft. . The data show that’s already happening. But the size of farms increased 14.5%

This is nothing new: these companies have been actively blocking climate policy for decades.

It never accounted for entropy and the laws of thermodynamics. Rifkin wrote a book about that in 1995. He’s also influential.
